Randall Higdon – Landscape

Randall Higdon, a representational watercolorist, has developed a sense of serenity like sailboats at rest in a harbor. He paints the early morning fog and then the peacefulness of an evening sunset. He has made many aspects of coastal living his subject matter. From incoming waves to the dunes and sandy stretches of the Great Lakes shoreline. In addition to pursuing Michigan landscapes Randy finds vineyards, old apple orchards and open Bay Glistening (Custom)farmlands great material to interpret in his own unique way. Upon graduating from Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids, Michigan he worked 6 years as a graphic designer/illustrator for two advertising agencies and pursued painting in watercolor in his spare time. Adding to the complexity of this highly skilled artist, is a series of soft acrylic abstract paintings that Randy began creating many years ago. His watercolor and abstract pieces share a unique feature, they complement each other when hung together in the same environment. Randall is now a signature member of the prestigious American Watercolor society and a signature member of the American society of Marine Artists.
